EDJCA Under 10s - Under 12s

Bulimba Cricket Club is a member club of Eastern Districts Junior Cricket Association. It’s the competition where both boys and girls in under 10’s through to under 12’s compete against other member clubs also in the Eastern Districts Association. Some of these clubs include Holland Park, Wynnum Manly, Mansfield, Carina, Villanova College and Redeemer Lutheran College.

Games are played on Saturdays at grounds located throughout the EDJCA area - morning games commence at 8:00am and afternoon games commence at 1:00pm. The season runs consecutively with school term 4 and term 1 with player registration opening in late July. Families have the option to play for either a full season (term 4 and term 1) or a half season (term 4 or term 1).

 
The appropriate age group for players is determined by that players age at the time of registration or alternatively their age at 31 August (e.g. if a player is 10 years old at the time of registration; but they turn 11 on 28 August, they are required to register in the under 12’s competition). 

Players that wish to play up in age can do this, however the club strongly encourages playing in the correct age group for the full season. Moving up two age groups does require specific approval from the Junior Director of Coaching.
There are no point ladders or championship titles within the under 10’s to under 12’s EDJCA competition. Instead the focus is on players enjoying the game of cricket and developing their skills for later age groups.

Under 11 players are also invited to participate in the Annual Ron Eager Cup held in the December school holidays. The Cup provides players with the opportunity to play five days of cricket in a fun carnival atmosphere.
